From museum walls to private collections – Discover the power of Acrylic
Ever wondered what stands between a priceless artwork and the chaos of the outside world? Sometimes, it’s not a vault or a security guard. It’s acrylic. But not just any acrylic.
Think of acrylic like a pair of designer sunglasses for your art – shielding it from UV damage while letting all the brilliance shine through. It’s light, tough, and crystal-clear. That’s why it’s used in places where regular glass just can’t keep up – art museums, private galleries, or even when shipping treasures across the world.
We’ve taken acrylic to the next level. Artglass Lifetime Acrylic isn’t just protective – it’s almost invisible. Like a bodyguard who disappears in the background, ALA works silently to keep artwork safe, stunning, and just as the artist intended.
What makes Artglass Lifetime Acrylic stand out?
Let’s break it down:
- Invisible look – With ultra-low reflection and high light transmission, your art pops, not the glaze.
- Static be gone – No more dust parties on the surface, thanks to its anti-static coating.
- UV Protection? Up to 100%. The sun won’t stand a chance.
- Shatter-resistant – Accidents happen. ALA doesn’t judge. It protects.
- Also available in different thicknesses – 3 mm, 4.5 mm, and 6 mm.
ALA is designed with both conservators and framers in mind. Whether your piece is headed to a major exhibition or your client’s living room, it deserves the best.
Not all acrylics are as harmless as they seem. Some slowly release invisible chemicals such as acids or formaldehyde, which over time can quietly damage valuable artworks. To prevent this, the British Museum created the Oddy Test in 1973 — a method to find out if a material is truly safe to use around sensitive heritage objects.
It is still among the most globally recognized tests for this type of conservation material testing. If an acrylic hasn’t passed the Oddy Test, museums won’t use it – it’s that simple.
Google it, and you’ll see – when it comes to protecting art, Oddy-approved acrylic is the only safe choice.
And here’s the best part:
Artglass Lifetime Acrylic passed – with a perfect score of 0
That’s the holy grail of preservation – no chemical emissions, no slow art destruction. Just reliable protection for decades to come.
It’s not just about passing the Test, it’s about performing in real life as well…
In our previous blog section “The Art of Seeing“, we showed you in a real lifetime video what happens to other anti-reflective acrylic when you simply change to more dramatic lighting.
Now imagine this. You build an acrylic showcase the size of Buckingham Palace and invite the world to take a look. With the wrong acrylic, you’d end up showcasing more haze and glare than the actual artwork.
But with Artglass Lifetime Acrylic, even under extreme lighting and at any scale, the only thing people will notice is the beauty inside – not what’s protecting it.
Let the numbers talk…
With reflection at just around 1% and light transmission over 98%, every number in this table tells a story – a story of precision and innovation.
Think of it as haute couture for your artwork – top quality, made to last and loved by professionals
It’s a tailored solution! Thoughtfully engineered to meet the needs of the world’s most demanding conservators, curators, and framers. From museum masterpieces to personal heirlooms, it delivers the perfect balance of protection and presentation.
Much like a bespoke suit, it’s crafted to fit perfectly – not only in function, but in form. Every layer, every feature is intentional, refined, and made to let the artwork take center stage. Because when it comes to showcasing what matters most, only a truly refined material will do.
Frame it once, protect it for a lifetime…that’s the Artglass promise.
