Museum of Decorative Arts and Design
The Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in Riga is part of the Latvian National Museum of Art and an important institution for Latvian design heritage and international cultural exchange.
The exhibition Courage and Care. Architecture and Design: The Roche Vision presented original drawings and plans by Latvian architect Aleksandrs Klinklāvs and Swiss architect Otto Rudolf Salvisberg. Most of the works were brought from the Roche archives in Switzerland, making their safety during transport, installation and public display especially important.
Artglass AR 99 Protect was used to create custom display structures known as “architect tables.” These tables allowed visitors to study the original architectural materials closely while supporting the exhibition’s functional, modernist presentation.
The glazing was selected to:
Reduce reflections and preserve fine architectural details.
Provide 99% UV protection for sensitive works on paper.
Add laminated, shatter-resistant protection.
Support a clean and precise display concept.
Thanks to Artglass, the original drawings and plans by the distinguished architects Aleksandrs Klinklāvs and Otto Rudolf Salvisberg looked excellent in the exhibition.
